Real Wedding: Kim + Ty

Wedding Inspiration

back

When Kim approached me to do her wedding flowers, I instantly fell in love with her vision. Her words were ‘I’m really liking the floral studio/french/soft romantic’ kind of vibe’, and I was immediately sold. One thing that I loved about Kim’s vision was that it was so individual, and not just a replication of the same ‘Pinterest-famous’ photos. Together we spent hours emailing back and forth, chatting on the phone & conducting a venue walk-through, drawing sketches and collating inspiration, to ultimately create something that was perfectly suited to their wedding.

Kim’s bridesmaids wore stunning silver satin cocktail dresses, meaning that we didn’t need to colour-match to a particular colour – we essentially had a ‘blank canvas’ to create a unique colour palette! We decided on a fairly neutral palette – creams, beige, dusty pinks with burgundy and plum accents to tie in with Ty’s dark burgundy suit.

Kim and Ty’s ceremony was held at the beautiful High Church in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. Kim wanted to utilise lots of flowers and greenery to fill the large white space. We created beautiful garden-like floor installations to line the back row of chairs, creating a stunning statement as guests walked in. For the ceremony backdrop, we utilised the stone dry bar, creating a large curved installation to sit on the edge of the bar, with various heights and levels of vase arrangements strategically placed on the floor to create an elegant yet random look, complemented by some gorgeous draping Frou Frou Chic silk fabric.

Other vendors who helped pull Kim + Ty’s spectacular wedding together include: Roxy Hotten Celebrant,  Eilish Ellen (Musician), Mitch Birchall Studios (Videography), Vanilla Pod Specialty Cakes and Victoria Park Golf Complex (Reception Venue).

This wedding is definitely one for the books. Thank you, Kim, for choosing us to be part of your day x
